Atheism is just the lack of belief in the existence of God. That is literally what it all is. Nothing more, and nothing less. Now, one of the observable difference between a theist and an atheist in a day-to-day basis is that, while a theist is doing their daily worship to whatever God/Creator they believe in, an atheist is probably be saving more time performing more efficient tasks than some of these theists. Why? Well, those theists believe in God’s existence. They have to ‘give grace’ and ‘say thanks’ and ‘beg forgiveness’ in what has to be some secluded area surrounded by the ‘spirit of God’, or in a ‘tax-free building’ filled with even more people like them.

Not to offend theists that are currently reading this article, but this is how some atheists view your moments of professing your belief… that it is an utterly waste of precious time. Now, before some of you theists come up and shout from the top of your lungs that “By saying that God doesn’t exist, you’re saying that God does exist!” you theists must take into account a more familiar counter-argument to that which is “By saying that unicorns don’t exist, you’re saying that unicorns do exist!” and that, my friends, is why some atheists really dislike theistic people; those theists are just… illiterate when it comes to science. Although the same can be applied to atheists, but theists rely on faith.

So when it comes to the definition of atheism, theists – and even a few atheists – really misinterpret it. Atheism is not the rejection of the claim of theism. Nor is it the claim to be not sure of the existence of God. It is not even the belief in which God does not exist. This article will explain these three statements later on. For now, let’s proceed to the definition of atheism, so that we can understand what may await next.

The ‘a’ in atheism means ‘without’, while theism means – the belief of God’s existence. So, atheism then means – without the belief of God’s existence; or, more commonly – the lack of belief of God’s existence. Atheism does not welcome belief in opposing the existence of God. This is when some theists would say that “If you lack belief of God’s existence, it means that you do have belief for the non-belief of God’s existence!” and in which case, a simple reply – like the one previously used – which is by saying that “If you lack belief of a unicorn’s existence, it means that you do have belief for the non-belief of a unicorn’s existence!” which will most probably just confuse those theists, so don’t get yourself confused that atheists ‘profess faith in their lack of faith for God’s existence’ because nothing in atheism presents faith (like in the form of worship, resurrection, reincarnation and such). A simple click away will help you find the credible sources if you really desire to think.

Most atheists will stand up to support this idea; that atheism is just the lack of belief of God’s existence. It really is. Now, there is what we call ‘agnosticism’ and ‘gnosticism’, and these are claims of knowledge. So, let us use the organized structure of the fourth paragraph. The ‘a’ in agnosticism means ‘without’, while gnosticism basically means – the claim to absolutely know. So, agnosticism then means – without the claim to absolutely know. A simple click away will help you find the credible sources if you really desire to learn.

Following on, let us go back to the three statements I made awhile back; “Atheism is not the rejection of the claim of theism.”
Atheism is just the definition I mentioned recently. Unless – by using what you may have learned earlier – saying that “I am a gnostic atheist,” it would fit that quote quite nicely. If you were a gnostic atheist, then you would be rejecting the claim of theism.
“Nor is it the claim to not be sure of the existence of God.”
Atheism is still the definition I mentioned recently. Unless – by using what you may have learned earlier again – saying that “I am an agnostic atheist,” it would fit that quote quite nicely. If you were an agnostic atheist, you would be unsure of God’s existence.
“It is not even the belief in which God does not exist.”
Atheism is only the definition I mentioned recently. Unless – by using what you may have learned earlier – saying that “Atheism does not incorporate faith,” it would fit that quote quite nicely. If atheism did incorprate miracles like resurrection and reincarnation, atheism would probably become a belief system.

Do we see non-taxed places of the worship of atheism? No. Do we see worshippers of atheism? No. Do we see an unseen being of atheism? No. Atheism should never be called as a religion. To clarify, the mostly accepted spectrum of atheism/theism is this:
Gnostic Atheist – I know if God does not exist and I lack belief in the existence of this God.
Agnostic Atheist – I do not know if God does not exist but I lack belief in the existence of this God.
Agnostic Theist – I do not know if God does exist but I believe in the existence of this God.
Gnostic Theist – I know if God does exist and I believe in the existence of this God.
And for those who needs a better specification, go to: The Dawkins’ Scale.

So then, it is better to specify what kind of atheism you mean. Is it the weak/hard atheism? Is it the agnostic/gnostic athiesm? Is it the de facto/strong atheism? I’m not only talking to the theists here, but also to the atheists. We should all settle on one definition of the word ‘atheism’ and ‘atheist’, so that we can further our investigation of the unknown. It is time to share… to share the intellect you may possess. People out there may mention hurtful words, but all of us has our own reasons as to why we may become hurtful. In one way or another, the way we give our responses will affect the way they give their responses.

The world is growing ever further into the expanse of the digital age, and this is a moment of time where free speech is taken to the next level; because where free speech exists, hate speech thrives. Misinformation is abundant yet the sign of true information strives. Everything in the Internet – in a hyperbolic sense – can now become a possibility, where the definition of atheism can turn to a feasibility.

Don’t make it sound like all atheists DO DENY that a God exists. Don’t make it sound like all atheists ARE UNSURE that a God exists. Don’t even make it sound like all atheists HAVE FAITH that a God may not exist. Because, in the end, atheism is just the lack of belief in the existence of God. That is literally what it all is. Nothing more, and nothing less.
